How do you get from MotoMags and Mini Scooters to mountain passes and the X-Games? It isn’t easy, but it can be done. Connecting the dots  from mountain bike’s racing first mega star to one of today’s biggest vert-ramp rulers is slightly more twisted, but no less relevant.

If you’ve ridden a Mongoose, these mile markers on our checkered past probably seem as memorable as they do unbelievable. Other skeletons in our crowded closet include a ten time NORBA champion, a woman’s downhill dominator, a handful of dirt jumping and freestyle legends and at least two X-Games medal winners.

But Mongoose Bikes aren’t about them. Its about people who make Mongoose what it is today, and the bikes they build for everyday John’s and Jane’s like you and me. Sure – we could reminisce about how cool we were in 1974, but that just seems sad. After all, you can’t ride nostalgia. When people try, they usually end up wearing crazy suits at big trade shows.
